If you met me...

Linking up with Lisa-Jo again! This time, it gets personal...

GO!

If you met me, you'd probably notice that I'm shy at first. I like to look, to feel it out, and then react. You'd notice that my husband takes over the conversation, that I tend to interject and then become more of myself after he has warmed up. You'd notice that I can't seem to get away from my daughter, that I show her off more than I'd probably like to admit. At some point, I'd probably seem confident. Trust me, it's mostly an act that I end up believing. I'd most likely correct your grammar a few *hundred* times and then blow your mind by making references to Stargate, Lord of the Rings, and Disney. I just might talk about my favorite bloggers or cloth diapers, depending on how the conversation steered. But you would also see me trying to figure you out, learning you and your favorites. Your heart. How you relate to the people you love, how you relate to God. If you even believe in Him. And maybe my heart would open just a little...maybe you'd get a peek at what really makes me who I am. Ya know, if I actually get over my little girl. :)

STOP

Confession: I restarted my timer after the first sentence or two because my husband was reading over my shoulder. And I got terrible "stage fright." But I finished before my timer went off the second time, so maybe it doesn't count? ;)

Haha, love the honesty here. I keep asking myself when I'll "get over" my son. But, I don't think I need to! These children are such blessings... I don't ever want to forget that.

Nice to meet you through The Gypsy Mama!

I'm with you ladies, our children are so beautiful, such miracles, we can be obsessed with them if we want. ;)

Reading your post, it sounds so much like me, enough that we could be twins. I too am shy at first and my husband is the more out going one. I often talk about the blogs I am reading and I too cloth diaper our daughter. Such a wonderful post. I am here from The Gypsy Mama and five minute Friday. Nice to meet you. I am your newest follower. My five minute Friday will not be posted until tomorrow afternoon, because that is when I have five minutes in my day.

Yup, I can relate! My husband is the social fly and I'm much more comfortable with a child on my hip. But, I love fellowship and I love to keep it real! Thanks for sharing you.

I think I'm your opposite...but it was interesting to read none the less. Thanks...your daughter looks precious, I'm sure! *smile

I am jealous that you would be able to correct my grammar. I continually make grammatical errors when I speak. I love to write and the English language still confounds me even though I am a native speaker.

What a sweet comment you left me -- and don't worry, my coffee pot is bottomless for good fellowship. :) So glad to meet you, new friend.

I, too, am shy at first, but once you get me talking, whew... you may never shut me up! AND I can be a bit of a grammar snob myself, so we'd get along just fine, I'd bet. You can teach me a thing or two about Stargate (since I've never even seen it) while I pour the refills.

Oh, and that precious little rainbow-colored bundle you have there is just all shades of adorable. :)

Have a blessed day, sister-friend.
